2005 Angels In Adoption Gala

The Angels in Adoption™ program is CCAI's signature public awareness program, which provides an opportunity to all members of the U.S. Congress to honor the good work of their constituents who have enriched the lives of foster children and orphans.

Each year, more than 160 members of Congress participate, making it the year’s single most significant congressional event pertaining to child welfare in the United States. 2005 events included a special reception at the home of Senator Mary Landrieu, a press conference on Capitol Hill and the Angel in Adoption Gala, held at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Washington, DC.
H&A oversaw all aspects of fundraising, event design and logistics, committee development, guest list development and VIP recruitment, seating, script writing, stage production and design as well as the production of all printed materials.

2005 honorees included The First Lady of the United States Mrs. Laura Bush, actress Victoria Rowell and recording artists Jars of Clay. Event Co-chairs were Cong. Dave Camp (R-MI), Sen. Larry Craig (R-ID), Sen. Mary Landrieu, (D-LA) and Cong. James Oberstar (D-MN). Former 20/20 correspondent Tom Jarriel served as gala emcee.
