The Fisher House Foundation
Golf Classic
The Fisher House Foundation enlisted Hayes & Associates
to organize the logistics and raise the fundraising goal for
the Fisher House Golf Classic. Hayes and Associates re-worked
the logistics and sponsor benefits of the 280 plus person tournament
in order to maximize funds raised and accommodate the growing
tournament in an organized manner.
The Fisher House Golf Classic took place at Lansdowne Country
Club. Invited guests included senior level military personnel,
members of Congress, prominent members of the media, and corporate
sponsors, as well as guests from Walter Reed and families from
local Fisher Houses.
One of the highlights of the tournament was a televised golf
clinic for the wounded service members. Hayes & Associates
worked with the founding sponsor SAP Systems, and CNN to produce
the clinic. Ken Peck, double amputee golf pro, worked with each
wounded player on their golf game. CNN later aired the footage
of the clinic on their network.
Following the tournament Hayes & Associates coordinated
and directed the awards program, emceed by CNN’s John Roberts
(anchor of American Morning). The Honorable Larry LaRocco was
the guest auctioneer for the Live Auction.
In addition to tournament logistics and fund raising support,
Hayes & Associates coordinated the live auction and raffle
of over 130 items. Together the auction and raffle brought in
over $32,690, bringing the total raised by H&A’s fundraising
team to over $600,000 for the foundation.
The Fisher House Foundation builds homes on the grounds of major
military and VA medical centers. These homes enable family members
of military personnel to be close to their loved one at the most
stressful times - during the hospitalization for an unexpected
illness, disease, or injury.
