H&A launched the National First Ladies’ Library in
Canton, Ohio, developing a strategic plan, creating a corporate
identity, and developing Board and State First Lady committees.
H&A also developed a sponsorship strategy and solicited prospects.
Initial events included the first White House “internet
telephony broadcast” event with First Lady Hillary Rodham
Clinton and the Grand Opening of the Library in Canton with First
Lady Rosalyn Carter in attendance.
H&A has managed the annual “First Ladies Salute First
Women” awards gala on behalf of the Library since its inception,
providing all creative design, production and logistical support,
as well as fund raising assistance, for an annual awards event
recognizing nationally renowned women who have been first in
their field, including Madeleine Albright, Gwendolyn Brooks,
Elizabeth P. Campbell, Shirley Chisholm, Sandra Day O’Connor,
Althea Gibson, Antonia Novello, Kathryn Sullivan, Frankie Hewitt,
Helen Thomas, Corinne “Lindy” Boggs, Elizabeth Dole,
Bernadine Healy, M.D., Wilhelmina Holladay, and Coretta Scott
