Pope John Paul II Cultural Center Foundation
Hayes & Associates worked with the Pope John Paul II Cultural
Center Foundation to introduce the Center, located in Washington,
DC, as a new national institution for the world during its groundbreaking,
topping off and cross-raising activities.
H&A provided special event and media support during the
groundbreaking, providing all logistical support for a VIP reception
held at The Apostolic Nunciature and the groundbreaking and luncheon
under tents on the grounds of the Center. H&A greeted Trustees
of the Center at their hotels and transported them to all functions.
H&A secured all equipment, designed the menus, and produced
the groundbreaking ceremony, including photo opportunities with
Cardinals and Bishops, Trustees and Members of Congress and the
Administration. H&A's media team secured coverage by The
Washington Post, The Chicago Tribune, The Boston Herald, The
Washington Times, Fox News, and many local, regional and national
business, Catholic and architectural publications and broadcast
outlets.
H&A provided public and media relations support to the Cultural
Center Foundation after the groundbreaking, writing press releases
to announce major milestones including construction milestones
such as the installation of the roof of the building ("topping
off") and the raising of the cross, as well as the hiring
of key staff. H&A also worked with the Director of the Center
to identify key audiences from which to attract visitors to the
Center, produce copy for marketing materials and design an identity
and public relations plan.
