USO Gala

The USO World Headquarters has sought help from H&A to heighten the profile of their annual gala in 2003, 2004 and 2005. The USO honors service heroes from every branch of the military at its annual gala, paying tribute to these brave enlisted men and women selected for the honor by the senior enlisted military.

Sam Donaldson and Deborah Norville have served as Masters of Ceremonies, and celebrities Shaquille O’Neal, Bo Derek, John Elway, Paul Rodriguez and Leeann Tweeden as award presenters. The service chiefs and senior enlisted of each branch of the military, as well as General Richard Myers, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, have congratulated the service heroes on stage. The USO has also honored actress Ann-Margret and singer Wayne Newton for thier dedication to the men and women of the U.S. armed forces and Generals Tommy R. Franks and Richard Myers for their distinguished service to his country.

Entertainment for the evening has been provided by Wayne Newton, who brings to Washington an authentic “USO Show.” The USO Show has featured the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, crooners Chris Isaak and Neal McCoy, and comedian Paul Rodriguez.

H&A provides full logistical, fund raising, and media relations support to the USO World Headquarters, developing high-level committees to assist in the planning and fund raising effort, securing and managing all vendors, drafting scripts, writing press releases and pitching the media, and managing the stage production at the event. Under H&A’s direction, the USO Gala surpassed the $1 million mark for the first time.
