Wendy joins the Hayes and Associates team from a catering
background. A qualified Cordon Bleu Chef, she spent 12 years
in the catering industry working in a variety of capacities,
most recently for Lawrence Graham, a London law firm, where
she managed all the catering and special event needs of the
50 partners and 300 staff.
Since joining Hayes and Associates
in 2006, Wendy has been involved in an extensive selection
of projects in varying capacities. Most recently, as Account
Executive, she has worked on the logistics for the annual USO
Gala. Program participants included Admiral Michael Mullen,
USN, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and The Honorable
William J. Lynn III, Deputy Secretary of Defense. The event
attracted 1,000 guests including a large number of senior military
and members of congress.
For the past three years Wendy has
been involved with the National Defense University Foundation’s
American Patriot Award Gala. Most recently honoring General
David H. Petraeus, USA and the Extraordinary Men and Women
of Central Command where she worked alongside the H&A media
department to incorporate within the program a live feed to
the troops in Iraq.
Other
projects Wendy has played a pivotal logistical role in during
the past year include; The Center for Global Development’s
Embassy Progressive Dinner which was hosted by the Embassy
of Italy, The Canadian Ambassador’s Residence and the
Brazilian Ambassador’s Residence; Military Times 9th
Annual Service Members of the Year Awards Ceremony; The U.S.
Army Women’s Foundation Army Women
in Transition Symposium and Hall of Fame Luncheon, where General George W. Casey, USA,
Chief of Staff of the U.S. Army gave the keynote address, the
Mardi Gras Kings Luncheon and the GE/NBCU Inaugural Brunch
celebrating the 2009 Inauguration of President Barack Obama.
Past
events include the National Museum of American History’s
Grand Reopening Festival, the 60th Anniversary Reception for
Meet the Press, the Gala Opening of the American Soldier Photographic
Exhibit, Kikkoman’s A Golden Heritage 50th Anniversary
Gala Celebration and the CARE “I am Powerful” Reunion
and Retreat amongst many others.
In addition to her long standing
clients, for 2010 Wendy is excited to be representing H&A
as they collaborate for the 18th consecutive year with the
March of Dimes to produce their annual Washington, DC Gourmet
Gala.
Wendy was born and educated in the United Kingdom but
spent her childhood in South America , West Africa, and South
Yemen following her father in his role as a British Diplomat.
Her catering career allowed her to travel extensively throughout
Europe until 1999 when her husband’s career brought her
to the US. They, along with their three children, have now
made Falls Church, VA their home.
